Waltham Cross Health Centre bids farewell to beloved cleaner after 18 years of dedicated service

Waltham Cross Health Centre announces the retirement of Beryl McRobbie, a cherished member of their cleaning staff, after an impressive 18-year tenure. Mrs McRobbie, who celebrated her 81st birthday on 18th November, is set to embark on her well-deserved retirement.

Known for her unwavering dedication, Mrs McRobbie has maintained a perfect attendance record throughout her employment, only taking time off during personal bereavements.

"It's been a great crowd here," Mrs McRobbie reflected. "The job gave me something to do and a reason to get out for a few hours each day." Her three-and-a-half-hour afternoon shifts have been a constant in the Health Centre's operations.

Colleagues marvel at Mrs McRobbie's resilience. Despite arthritic knees, she consistently chose the stairs over the lift, inspiring admiration from co-workers who often remarked on her exceptional health.

Vincenza Arnold, a close colleague, shared: "I'm going to miss my chats with Beryl. She treated my grandson as one of her own and became like a second mum to me. Her presence has been invaluable to our team."

When asked about her most satisfying aspect of the job, Mrs McRobbie simply stated, "The people." Her life advice to all is equally straightforward: "Just keep going. Get up every day and jump over hurdles!"

Post-retirement, Mrs McRobbie plans to relocate from her current residence in Enfield to Weymouth, Dorset, to be closer to her son.

Waltham Cross Health Centre extends its heartfelt gratitude to Mrs McRobbie for her years of service and wishes her the very best in her retirement.
